Three year Research aimed at finding the best way to help homeless youth in London, Ontario with mental illness is trying to unravel if it's best to treat the illness first or to find housing. "We are going to do our best to give them the model they prefer and follow that to see how it works out," Dr. Cheryl Forchuk, assistant director at Lawson Health Research Institute and acting associate director of nursing research at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry told the London Free Press. Earlier U.S. studies that looked at adults found it is much better to assist homeless people with mental illness by finding them housing first.
