Montreal´s Strategy for Inclusion is Working!
Montreal´s Strategy for Inclusion lie in the 2004 Master Plan identified the need to promote the building of affordable housing throughout the city, and established that 30% of new residential housing, both social and private, should be affordable. Moving from a Master Plan to building new affordable units requires an implementation strategy, and in the case of Montreal, the strategy is working!
In 2005, the City of Montreal created a Strategy to promote the inclusion of affordable housing in new residential development. Mary Clarke spoke with Daniel Legault at the City of Montreal to find out more about the strategy.
Energy Efficiency for Low Income Canadians CHRA´s Ongoing Commitment
If you ever wondered about the power of an AGM resolution, look no further that CHRA´s 2004 resolution calling for a national affordable housing energy efficiency program. This resolution was the official start of CHRA´s commitment to energy efficient affordable housing. CHRA quickly moved from the words of the resolution to actions.

2009 Message from the Policy Advisory Committee
In 2008, CHRA´s Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) was formed. With limited resources and a committee of dedicated volunteers, we concluded we would concentrate our efforts by developing key policy statements for the CHRA Board of Directors´ consideration. These policy statements are meant to present the face of CHRA; they describe and promote what we stand for. To move from theory to practice, the 2008 Inaugural Annual Survey was used as a tool to solicit members for their policy priorities. To learn more about PAC, please click here.
