2012 CHRA Board Elections: Call for Nominations
The Nominations Committee invites members of Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA) to nominate candidates for the Board of Directors.
CHRA is a national not-for‐profit organization founded in 1968 to provide leadership in the social housing sector. With members across Canada, CHRA is dedicated to shaping housing policy in Canada, to developing strong housing networks and leaders across the country, and to supporting and growing our membership. CHRA has more than 220 organizational and individual members and has an annual budget of approximately $1 million. CHRA is managed on behalf of the membership by a Board of 16 elected directors.
Board Elections
Eight positions will be up for election and 8 will remain in their current positions as shown in the tables below.
All terms are for three years, except as indicated below. Directors are eligible to serve for two consecutive terms for a total of six years and then must step down from the board for a minimum of one year before running for another position on the board.

*Please note that Alan Wallace is stepping down from his position one year into his three-year term; therefore, the Saskatchewan Director will be elected to fulfill the remaining two years of the term which ends after the AGM in 2014.
Eligibility
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and voting members of the association in good standing for at least one fiscal year prior to the election, or in other words, since March 2011.

Nominations must contain the Nomination Form, signed by the nominee and two nominators, and a 200-word statement on the background of the nominee, why s/he is interested in serving on the Board and what assets s/he will bring to the Board. For the at-large positions, a nominator may be any Voting Member of CHRA. Nominators for the regional positions must live in the same region as the nominee. Elections
Where there is more than one candidate for a position, ballots will be sent to all Voting Members with a list of candidates for Director for their region and a list of candidates for Directors at-large. Instructions and a special return envelope will also be included. All ballots must reach CHRA by April 13.

March 13 - Nomination forms due at CHRA
March 28 - Ballots sent to voting members.
April 13 - Ballots due at CHRA.
